A Steel company located in the Detroit area is looking for a Maintenance Technician. This is a direct hire position with our company.
Pay: $28 to $31 per hour depending on experience
Hours: 1st shift-Monday thru Friday, 8AM to 5PM
GENERAL OVERVIEW
Responsible for keeping assigned equipment and facilities functioning at optimum level. The
work requires a high degree of independence and judgment operating under well-defined written
policies and procedures. Performs under the direct supervision of the shift supervisor or plant
superintendent at the direction of the general manager. This is a non-supervisory position.

? Frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with
hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, talk or hear.
? The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 75 lbs. Specific vision abilities
required include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and
ability to adjust focus.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
? Manage the preventive maintenance program on all assigned equipment.
? Order machine parts and/or building supplies.
? Handle any facility or property maintenance as needed.
? Troubleshoot a variety of machines and contact outside technicians when needed.
? Operate equipment and machinery such as but not limited to cranes, fork trucks, and side
loaders.
? Complete training requirements.
? Schedule inspections as necessary on equipment and machinery.
? Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.
EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Equivalent to four years high school, with emphasis in office or shop skills, plus up to six
months related experience and/or training. Equivalent combination of education and experience
are also acceptable.
