Senior Systems Engineering Manager

Job Summary:

The Senior Systems Engineering Manager applies technical knowledge to the planning and execution of American Battery Solutions systems engineering deliverables for specific processes and projects. This role is actively engaged in projects & leads the team of systems engineering resources responsible for the management of customer requirements and systems test planning for ABS products.

A successful candidate will be adept at developing & executing strategic initiatives for the systems team and resolving technical issues. Performance is by measured by effective project execution.

Responsibilities:

• Hire, Train, and Lead the systems engineering group
• Drive process and tool development to advance the efficiency within the team
• Propose and oversee budgets and timelines for engineering projects
• Communicate and collaborate with other managers, suppliers, and contractors
• Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed & the methods used by engineering team
• Conduct various tests and quality assurance checks to verify the quality of completed projects
• Serve as the engineering leader and technical expert within the systems team
• Answer questions and resolve issues brought forth by the engineering team members
• Create detailed system engineering plans, processes, and procedures for engineering staff
• Monitor systems project performance and provide recommendations as required
• Spearhead various research and development initiatives to identify opportunities for new projects and improved processes
• Prepare and deliver various engineering-related presentations, both internally and externally
• Other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, M.S in a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience
• Minimum of five (5) years of engineering experience in a project leadership or management role
• Minimum of ten (10) years in a system engineering role or equivalent experience in cross-functional roles
• Experience in the development of high voltage products including battery pack development or associated interface products
• Demonstrated leadership skills necessary to manage and develop a team through past assignments.
• Experience developing and training on engineering processes and tools; specifically in a system engineering competency
• Experience with Systems Engineering methods and practices
• Organizational competencies and project management skills to keep projects, processes, and the entire engineering team on track
• Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment
• Analytical and mathematical mind, capable of evaluating and solving various complex issues
• Interpersonal communication skills with expertise in distilling complicated topics to a broader audience
• Ability to work individually and as part of a team
